Insurance: Please call your insurance company to be sure we participate in your plan. If a patient decides to be seen even though we do not participate in their insurance they must sign a "Notice of Non-Participation" waiver stating that they understand that we do not accept their insurance and they may be responsive for the entire bill. HMO participants must bring in a valid referral for their appointment or they will be asked to sign a waiver stating that they understand that they may be responsible for part of all of their charges. We do not accept Worker's Comp, BlueChoice Platinum, Aetna HMO/QPOS, Medicaid, Some United Healthcare Plan (HMO) or Coventry Wellstar (HMO) Insurance Plans Accepted by Piedmont Rheumatology:
Here are some helpful hints so you can get the most out of your visit: Before your visit, take some quiet time to write down your symptoms, questions, and concerns you have. Bring this information with you so we maybe sure all your concerns are met. If you're visiting for the first time, bring your medical records or have them transferred from your previous doctor in advance. Take time to make yourself a brief history of your problems so you can easily answer questions. Please remember the importance of telling your doctor everything you know about your health status, including all your symptoms and problems. No one knows your body and how you feel better than you do. The more information you share, the better the doctor will be able to diagnose your problem and treat you. Be sure to disclose any and all medications, vitamins and herbs you are taking, and whether you are being treated by any other health care provider. It is important you disclose all information to your doctor, this includes vitamins, herbs, alcohol, tobacco, current or past drug use (even if illegal, remember this is confidential between you and your doctor and is extremely important for your health and welfare).
